enigma Inc. has joined TOKYO NODE LAB, the research and development team at TOKYO NODE, the information and culture hub located in Toranomon Hills.
TOKYO NODE LAB is a collaborative R&D platform operated by Mori Building Co., Ltd., working across technology, art, and entertainment to drive the creation of new experiential value.

Background

enigma has built its work around the philosophy of “creating things that will remain for ten thousand years” — delivering experiences layered with meaning, ones that future generations will continue to find significant over time.
Through this shared vision, enigma and TOKYO NODE LAB have previously collaborated on projects such as the Ghost in the Shell exhibition and TOKYO PROTOTYPE, repeatedly expanding the possibilities of spatial expression together. These collaborations gave rise to a strong resonance around the R&D of experiential value, ultimately leading to this participation in TOKYO NODE LAB.

Key Initiatives Through This Participation

１．Creating New Spatial Experiences Rooted in Technology

Integrating video, sound, and interaction technologies to redefine space itself as a medium. enigma will pursue R&D that builds “responsive spaces” through technology, generating new forms of experience for the future.

２．Developing Urban Location-Based Entertainment (LBE)

In addition to co-creating with diverse IP from Japan and abroad, enigma will develop its own original content, leveraging the unique characteristics of the space. By comprehensively designing the structure, narrative, and staging of experiences, enigma aims to create new models for urban LBE.

３．Building a Creator Community That Generates High Culture

Cultivating a community where highly attuned young creators and producers gather to exchange ideas, technology, and modes of expression. This initiative aims to let experience itself ferment into culture and evolve into IP — nurturing creative soil from which new culture can emerge and spread into the future.

Looking Ahead

Through its collaboration with TOKYO NODE LAB, enigma will continue to explore new possibilities in experiential value, working toward the development of prototype experiences and the cultivation of community that will contribute to “things that remain for ten thousand years.”
